Goodbye, Nice To Know You THIS JUST IN...
Dirk Lance (Alex Katunich) was asked to leave Incubus in October of 2002, due to "issues" and "creative differences". He is now replaced by Ben Kenney formerly of the Roots. I have been doing research on this matter ever since I found out. It is truly sad that Dirk is gone, but this may steer the band back in time and mix the funk of the old albums with the smooth, soulful sound of today's Incubus, creating a new, REINVENTED Incubus.

"'Alex Katunich, aka Dirk Lance is no longer a member of Incubus. The four founding members have been involved with the band and each other for over 12 years and during that time have shared many wonderful moments together and also some difficult moments. A decision was reached amongst the band members in a face to face meeting at the end of the Morning View Tour to end Dirks involvement in the band.'
The official news broke earlier today on our message board, and has since been verified on the sony site Enjoy Incubus. For more info from several other sources close to incubus and the Roots (we'll get to that in a minute), be sure to check the message board.
This news also verifies what many of us have known for some time now, that former Roots bassist Ben Kenny will be joining incubus as a full time memeber. Unofficially, he and the band have already written as many as 19 new songs for the new tour and an eventual new album.
